In the film, it was forgotten to soak the felting in the seal with oil. if you don't do that, the filtring will "burn" and become hard. Also missing some explanation about the amount of grease on the wheel bearing,Too much grease leads to heat build-up and increased friction, which reduces the lifespan of a ball bearing. Otherwise an indicatively good film.

Awesome video, BUT you don't even have to remove the mirror head from the car - just unhook the connector, then separate the mirror halves and remove any remaining connectors. PLUS - any plastic interior trim work like separating the bezel from the housing, never a metal screwdriver, use a plastic spudger. (In comments, someone mentioned guitar picks - same concept.) Dirt cheap at places like Harbor Freight, but available at any auto parts store. Also as WIDE as possible and you won't get dents.

Granted I haven't done this in nearly 40 years but I seem to remember putting the engine at TDC on the #1 cylinder in order to put the marks on the gears lining up in the correct spot. Am I misremembering?

this makes the job look far more inviting than actually doing it in the car. That top water pipe is seemingly WELDED into the fricken pump, and onto the engine. Volvo really wanted us to suffer. Really poor design for maintenance - I can't wait to see how many times I have to connect the FOUR pipes into the new one for it to be fully sealed. Thanks, though for the video, it's helpful just to see the dream and the little tricks to at least try sealing the o rings.

Все гениальное давно уже придумано, например двигатель Volvo B18. В чем же секрет этого двигателя, почему он так долговечен? Двигатель охлаждается с помощью воды однако он практически не перегревается, в то время как современные двигатели перегреваются, в циллиндрах образуются задиры, голову двигателя от перегрева ведёт, вырывает болты крепления головы, двигатель требует особенных качественных антифризов. в Volvo В18 для литья использовался качественный металл а не алюсил какой- нибудь, кроме того сам массивный корпус и есть часть схемы охлаждения двигателя помимо радиатора, далее поршни от и цельные по всему периметру и равномерно воздействуют на стенки циллиндр что тоже важно, масла в двигатель льётся много. А вот схема охлаждения современного двигателя неоптимальна настолько что вода кипит и забивает кальцием каналы и радиатор. Все просто, современная политика потребления требует чтобы автомобили быстро ломались и отправлялись на слом а на их место покупались новые автомобили. Но 25 млн нераспроданных автомобилей стоят мертвым грузом в мире. Это политика пожирания самого себя. Именно потому в мире наступает глубокий экономический кризис. Нам говорят что нефтяная и угольная энергетика убивает экономику и предлагают альтернативу, электромобили тесла и тд. Но аккумуляторы имеют ограниченное число перезарядок а кроме того электричество для зарядки тоже нужно произвести. Так На базе какого двигателя можно создать генератор, да например Volvo B18. ММЗ выпускает похожую конструкцию двигатели из линейки Д245 нужно конструкцию просто улучшить . Все что нужно создать эффективный генератор, не нужно портить проекты как раньше, нарисуйте в проекте хвостик рыбы и пару чёрточек, чертёж испорчен. Далее современным двигателям необходимо дыхание и это наддув воздуха для качественного сгорания топлива с помощью электродвигателя. Хотите автомобиль на электрическом ходу?? Пожалуйста создайте ДВС на базе В18 объемом литр, то есть размером поменьше соедините с генератором а дальше в автомобиле может быть пятое приводное колесо и передача мощности от электродвигателя через мощные шестерни, либо классическая схема два приводных колёса и два ходовых электродвигателя. Все что нужно это новый эффективный генератор, ДВС и электродвигатель. По той же схеме с пятым приводным колесом можно создать трак. Можно использовать классическую коробку передач, но уже на пятое приводное колесо с помощью шестерней большой мощности и диаметра. Саму коробку передач тоже можно переработать в пользу увеличения размера шестернёй.

I had heard the "sum of 9" where valve #8 is fully open and #1 can be adjusted, #7 open & #2 is adjusted, etc, but I think I'll try this method of "sum of 5" today. Seems easier and faster.

no Volvo 165 or at least 164 to see in that video, i thought there would be some to see. so far i have seen Volvo cars, the 165 model is the nicest looking, the older version with the curved front bumper. there arent that many videos of that Volvo model, i would like to watch.

Can I ask, if the driveshaft has too much play (in/out) would that cause engagement issues within the diff? I am having issues with the right driveshaft when reversing, juddering, whereas rear left is fine.

Is there a torque spec for the timing gear cover?
